Gerber Factory Pose

Referring to my much much earlier blogging , I did mention that I am the fan of "Man Vs Wild" hosted Bear Grylls. Well, once a scout always a scout. But I have to admit that I am not an entirely pure Scout because I couldn't actually commit to some of the scout laws. One of the example is that scout must always help people at all time , after giving a deep thought, I don't think I have that characteristic.  I do like to help people but not all the time. I have to prioritize, I have to choose. I have to allocate the time , money and whatsover that make sense. That is part of the management skills. So , if those traits make me a non-scout or less Scout, so be it !

Back to my trip to Portland, Oregon

As per my understanding, Gerber is somehow connected to Sir Bear Grylls as this is the company or factory that produces the gadgets for the Bear Grylls Series like the famous BG Ultimate Knife, Hatchet, Machete, folding knives, Multi-Tools, Camping stuffs  and some other tools. I got a few items in my collections. Those are Made in Oregon, or perhaps designed in Oregon but Made in China. (note : Though i have those collections and equipments ready to Outdoor , but then I don't have much motivation to put the effort to make it happen nowadays. Pretty Lazy ! )

The photo above was taken by my team mate,  we were on our way to find a Muslim Food in a place neraby call Tigard,  before we move on to Woodburn Factory Outlet and since I know the fact that Gerber is originally Made in Oregon, i told my team mate to stop by the Gerber store as I plan to buy something cool -- Made in Oregon . Well we ended up at this factory on Saturday (it was closed) as I used GPS address to locate the Gerber Store instead. So, this is just a close factory on Saturday and i just took the opportunity to take a photo at the Factory Entrance as the signage and wording looks pretty cool to me --- hey , it is Made in Oregon…haha… :-)

The combination of Orange Color and the Black Back Ground. Orange color is pretty cool. Hmm...Orange Color .... I wonder why I ended up liking these combination of colors. I mean black and orange.

Trip to the land of Grunge !

I was practically lazy to do Blogging Stuffs ! Yes I do. Reason being is that I am lazy. That's it , period ! The motivation was kind of low as they were lots of transitioning happen throughout these years, venturing to new stuffs, new hobbies, new job scope, new housing area , new wife......( oops, I mean new WIFI setting ...), what the crap !

ok, back to the 2014 Blog --

1991 was the year that i got to learn about grunge music. Back, where I grew up,  it doesn't really matter , almost everything that sounds hard was categorized as "Rock".   And in fact, i didn't even know they called it grunge , subversive rocks, alternative etc. I just enjoy the music flow and simplicity of the lyrics, particularly I am talking about the band Nirvana. It was on the sofa , around 2.00 pm , as I was laying down after school, that I first heard the buzzing sounds of "Smells Like Teen Spirit". Music to me is something that add flavors to your journey , it is not a priority , but still something that follows you as you pace through life, throughout joys and difficulties. Yes, to me it represent both.

Recently, I was on a two weeks job assignment to the United States, and at first, I  wasn't really sure exactly the location of the place, after I "Google Map",  well..well...Look what I found ....an interesting fact that the work assignment area is not too far away from Seattle, Washington. The home ground of my all time favorite band , Nirvana. So I took some effort to study the information and found out that there is a museum in Seattle call the EMP Museum where they have a gallery for Nirvana, Jimi Hendrix and some other artists. So before the assignment , I told my team mate that visiting the museum is part of my wish list.  I don't really care about going to Factory Outlet or whatsoever. But I do enjoy spending time at Walmart , especially the Outdoor portion ! I got to know from my internet search that the so called famous "Pearl Jam" is also from Seattle, but who cares , I don't really like Pearl Jam anyway. Starbuck Coffee is also from Seattle, and again, who cares , I don't like Star Buck too ! What Fish ! I mean the  Seattle Pike Fish Market .

So, on the second week in the US, I went to Seattle to check it out. About an hour drive. We had our lunch in a Turkish Restaurant. Nice food. It happens to be that my team mates have very little clue about the grunge musics and of course , Nirvana in particular. So I suggested to them to drop me at the museum and pick me up later, so they could have other interesting tours at the Seattle area.  But upon reaching at the EMP museum, they decided to join me. It was just a quick tour of USD20 ticket per person. Frankly speaking , it was below my expectation kind of International Gallery. I was kind of expecting something "wow" but it turned up to be something "hmmm". Pity my team mates who followed me as they had not much clue about the museums contents and the overall tour concept, had to spend 2 hours walking and paid USD20.

Stuffs there are quite expensive, but I just grabbed few items , the compulsory EMP Museum T , Nirvana T, Jimi Hendrix & EMP Guitar Pick Collections, Fabric  Posters of Kurt Cobain and Guns N Roses. Seriously, now I do not know what to do with those stuffs ! So, when i start writing , kind of hard to stop and things just flying in my head, ready to be printed on this wall. Come As You Are , Territorial Pissing.
