MetalliCAT - "Black" & Generasi Kucing

Black ni sebenarnya kucing Mamatuk, jumpa depan rumah. Macam mana boleh dapat nama Black ? Dah tentu Mamatuk yang bagi, sempena nama Black Mentor.

Black ni kategori kucing aktif, tak macam kucing aku dulu yang nama Shaun Pororo ( Missing in Action). Jadi selang sehari aku mesti check-in Taman Peruda Utama sebab nak gomoi dengan Black. Black cukup berkenan dengan Intan, asal jumpa mesti nak "terekam". Black pandai buat aksi "anak bulu-bulu "…anak bulu-bulu ni aksi kucing yang selalu bergolek atas lantai bila dia nak buat-buat manja. Ni mamatuk punya terma.

Aksi Maria  & Shaun Pororo

Tom ni kira asal melawak nak cakaq orang saja. Cakaq sungguh-sungguh punya. Lagi satu perangai khianat dia, bila kucing betina beranak, Tom akan pi tokak leheq anak-anak kucing. Dekat 8 ekoq dia tokaq. Aku ingat Tom ni benih Israel kot. Memang makan penendang dengan aku masa tu.

Are you PolitiCally RIGHT ?

I have once heard that based on survey , political topic is a top rank non-work related heavilly topic at the work place. Not office politics , but simply
political view sharing among the collegues.

"Political talk and expressions" were sometime being made legal even company code of conducts clearly stated that we should not discuss about things that may lead to discomfort feelings towards others. Discomfort could lead to harassment , open door and so on so forth. Harassments could lead to hates, hates lead to suffering , and suffering leads to the Dark Side ---- hmmm…now I do sound like Master Yoda :-). As a leader , we should role model, be it wahtever you feel. One should not give a message to be on favor towards certain political party. Let's be neutral and keep it to ourselves as much as possible. A little bit of joke would be fine, as long as it doesnt hurt one's feeling.

I know that it is human nature to express their feelings or view but it is one maturity level that makes a different in delivering the right or wrong message within certain given situation. Basically, people political view can change from time to time. So it is best to keep it in the non-work environment so it may not get mess up with your commitment and objectives of the business that you are in.

To my definition,   politics are about power to rule , managing the people's  money and resources. It could lead to many wrongdoings if not properly manage. Yes, it exist  from the begining of human beings and during those Jurassic Park time. I guess that's where the word "Teritorial Pissings"comes from. Animals also have political influence and boundaries over one and another. So sometimes human practice those values of animals politics, and they justify it as humane. Luckily Animals do not have access to Facebook or the media socials, else the internet would be much more merrier with slanders and hates from cats, dogs and the members of the zoo.

When politician speaks, they are probably working because that is what they do best and what they do for living . But when non-politician speaks, especially during working hours or within the company premises, I suppose they are just being mediocre. You know you have little influence over what is happening.  Political talks has no direct correlation toward  the business or team needs  , and in fact , it brings other negatives elements as you are crossing one privacy and right. W should focus towards achieving other bigger missions. So, please keep our political at home or within our social events or social media friends.

Hey, btw, I wrote this blog during my non-working hours. Cheers !

Note :
Actually this post was written in 2014 , i put it into draft mode and just noticed it was still there.
So, here you go. Cheers !

Journey towards the "Mankind"

Late start again for 2015. But better late than never. I have thousands of reasons for the delay and decay (of ideas and motivation), but let's put those aside.

I attended a motivation session two weeks ago, which was actually meant for my daughter 2015 UPSR. This is the second year of Intan at that school, a newly open school in the middle of our reidential area. Honestly, I didnt plan to stay throughout the sessions as it stated in the leaflet as a 4 hours session. I forced my wife to come together though she pretty reluctant as to complete the household chores.

Well, anyhow, the event went pretty smooth with a energetic touch by one of the guest motivator from UUM, Ustaz Naim. The school has arranged a series of programs througout the year , to get prepared for their first UPSR. Based on the paperwork, it was pretty impressive with both spiritual, mental and academic contents. I simply salute the Headmaster, Encik Ghazali.

Well, during the motivation sessions, parents were strategically positioned at the back row. The girls and boys were separated right and left clusters. The motivation was about being human progressively. To me, I call it journey towards Mankind. That's what I told my kids. You go to school to progressively learn about life, all the subjects somehow will be interconnected in the future. To compare during my time, the syllabus are much more advance. For example, I only heard about IT and computer stuffs when I was in form 1, but these kids already had those syllabus in the primary school. And they also have those creative stuffs like Remote Control Car constructions, farming project , taking care of fish and stuffs like that.

Again , the word "Mankind"I learnt from the CD above (from the group Helloween, album Pink Bubbles Go Ape). To be exact, during my time, those were in Cassettes. That's how I pick up my English. And it works the same to my team mates those days.

Here's the excerpt from the song, (Heavy Metal song by Michael Kiske)  I could still remember the lyrics until today :

Mankind (Helloween)

Here is a Mankind so proud of achievement , there is no stone that is warmer than you
Look how we stand in the stream of illusions, no one says a word
Here you live, and there you cry , all that makes you move
There's no tear for anything , anything but you

Animals dying for our vanity , our world is a beutiful place to be free
Drinking the blood of the weak it's so easy No one hears them cry
Here you cheat , there you lie , all that makes you gain
One day we will face his throne , there's nothing we can say

Prosperity, luxury , fast food is rising, it's the rainforest that dies
Here you cheat , there you lie , all that makes you gain
One day we will face his throne , there's nothing we can say

Note : Sounds familiar ?

The Magic of Sense of Humor

I am attracted with the above quote by Mahatma Gandhi about sense of humor. Since I was a kid , sense of humor has been part of my way of doing things. But sometimes things that I found amused me could turn to be annoying to some people. I used to make practical joke by firing rocket firecrackers into the bathroom while my sister was having bath. My father was really mad about that. I used to pour clorox into an aquarium that caused a massacre of by brother's fish pets. And the whole family was really mad at me. I played James Bond and used diamond to cut the antique mirror that belongs to my mother, and she was really mad about it. In the nut shell, sense of humors have limits and must be practiced with some level of controls. Not everyone enjoys the sense of humors of yours.

Back in school, I could recall that those kids who had lots of sense of humor tend to be more famous than those who were not. I supposed the humor then was different from the humor now. So was the humor back in 50's, 60's , 70's so on and so forth. But throughout the decades , it is human nature to be attracted to things that make them laugh or smile.

If what I observed or gone through were right , there is a linkage between humor and creativity. And creativity is important or part of the ingredients towards being productive and innovative. The only difference would be the level of humor and also the content of the humor itself.

I have had many teachers who possessed lots of sense of humor. Those teachers were our favorite moments. Kids just couldn't wait for those teacher to enter the class. When I was in primary school, the best teacher with sense of humor was our discipline teacher, Cikgu R . He would make all sort of jokes and I would say they were way better than today's comedy programs on TV. But of course, I was from all boys school and the jokes were kind of X-Rated sometimes, and actually most of the time.

Even though Cikgu R scolded us or sometime cane the students, we had no hard feelings and keep in our heart. We could differentiate between the punishments,  rewards and jokes. At one time, there were two students having conflicts about a girl . They were fighting about that topic and the prefect couldn't handle it. The case was brought to attention of Mr. R. Within 2 minutes , Cikgu R resolved the issue with his X-Rated jokes and the whole class were
put into laughter and those two students ended laughing, it was like putting water right onto fire. That's the magic of sense of humor. I wish this could be apply to the nations at War. Do we need to send Mr. Bean or Russel Peters to the peace negotiation. Talking about peace, the Peace Guru, Mr. Prem Rawat has a good sense of humor. It was well communicated through fables and analogies. Hopefully his method can bring more peace to the world.

I remember one friend back then in 1986 , we were in standard 6. He has the character of extraordinary sense of humor but at the same time being the most active person in sports , pretty good in studies and of course, lots of secret admirers from the nearby girl school. I could vividly remember each of the crazy stuffs that he did until today. When I think of him, I could only see a brilliant boy smiling and always has some crazy ideas to share with the rest.

People were easily get along with this boy because of the crazy stuffs and jokes he used to crack us with. We were in the same soccer team , and we could hardly feel tired during training because this person cracks jokes all the time. But our late coach , Mr. A sometimes couldn't stand this boy behaviors.  Today, from what I heard , this boy has turned up to be a religious person and  is staying somewhere in the middle east.  Not really sure on the fact , but from the trusted source , he is now acting as an informal Malaysian diplomat for Malaysian students studied abroad and for those Malaysian visitors in that country. I don't have much information on this person but I presume he is doing well and still posses the great sense of humor. It is always be my pleasure to meet him again.

Today, the comedy shows have been so famous and recently there was a one day slot of 24 hours live comedy marathon show. In the early stage , I could appreciate these kind of shows but as it grows big and condensed, I think we should be thinking of a much better way to educate our people, especially the content of the jokes.

Obviously, in this recent years , the religious talk would be a full house if those speakers are the joke crackers. Most of Malaysian would know who are those figures. I would agree that sense of humors is a good way of delivering messages, especially to the youth. The only thing is that if the digestion of those messages is only towards the jokes, our society may need to be educated more on information processing method. But still , I would still appreciate these kind of sessions compare to those "Gangsters" or "Ghosts" movies that have been Malay Movie Trademarks lately, which I think not adding much value to the development of the human brains if overly exposed to those kind of movie or TV series. I still couldn't figure out what benefits the society can gain from watching these kind of movies. But I surely understand the profits that the producers are getting.

I would consider myself a joker when I entered secondary school. I could stand in front of the class and tell jokes to the students. That was a skill that not everyone posses. I remember that while I was in form one, my class teacher asked me to stand in front and tell stories. I ended up telling an X-Rated jokes. I was then elected to be the class monitor. Maybe this is how politician are chosen too.  But I didn't grow up to be a stand up comedian or politician. When I entered pre-university or Matriculation, I thought that I had to leave all the sense of humors behind. I was wrong. I put myself into trouble of having to adapt to the new character. I wanted to be serious, I wanted to be good in studies and be a fine graduate. I was wrong , I wasn't engineered that way. The character inside me didn't allow me to do that. I got into troubles with my grades. I had no sense of satisfaction. I was thinking to quit and go somewhere else. I had the syndrome of confused identity. One day I met a friend , a friend that taught me to be own myself , a friend that cracks jokes and live happy go lucky. At the same time , we had a teacher , Mr. A whom to me the master of humor educations. He taught us economic subject , but most of the time only the first 10 minutes of the 50 mins class , the rest were all fact of life through his jokes and stories. He changed the way I look at things. My grade had improved gradually and in fact I scored the highest mark for that particular subject. That is where I realize the power of sense of humor, or I would call it the Magic of Sense of Humor.

Gerber Factory Pose

Referring to my much much earlier blogging , I did mention that I am the fan of "Man Vs Wild" hosted Bear Grylls. Well, once a scout always a scout. But I have to admit that I am not an entirely pure Scout because I couldn't actually commit to some of the scout laws. One of the example is that scout must always help people at all time , after giving a deep thought, I don't think I have that characteristic.  I do like to help people but not all the time. I have to prioritize, I have to choose. I have to allocate the time , money and whatsover that make sense. That is part of the management skills. So , if those traits make me a non-scout or less Scout, so be it !

Back to my trip to Portland, Oregon

As per my understanding, Gerber is somehow connected to Sir Bear Grylls as this is the company or factory that produces the gadgets for the Bear Grylls Series like the famous BG Ultimate Knife, Hatchet, Machete, folding knives, Multi-Tools, Camping stuffs  and some other tools. I got a few items in my collections. Those are Made in Oregon, or perhaps designed in Oregon but Made in China. (note : Though i have those collections and equipments ready to Outdoor , but then I don't have much motivation to put the effort to make it happen nowadays. Pretty Lazy ! )

The photo above was taken by my team mate,  we were on our way to find a Muslim Food in a place neraby call Tigard,  before we move on to Woodburn Factory Outlet and since I know the fact that Gerber is originally Made in Oregon, i told my team mate to stop by the Gerber store as I plan to buy something cool -- Made in Oregon . Well we ended up at this factory on Saturday (it was closed) as I used GPS address to locate the Gerber Store instead. So, this is just a close factory on Saturday and i just took the opportunity to take a photo at the Factory Entrance as the signage and wording looks pretty cool to me --- hey , it is Made in Oregon…haha… :-)

The combination of Orange Color and the Black Back Ground. Orange color is pretty cool. Hmm...Orange Color .... I wonder why I ended up liking these combination of colors. I mean black and orange.

Trip to the land of Grunge !

I was practically lazy to do Blogging Stuffs ! Yes I do. Reason being is that I am lazy. That's it , period ! The motivation was kind of low as they were lots of transitioning happen throughout these years, venturing to new stuffs, new hobbies, new job scope, new housing area , new wife......( oops, I mean new WIFI setting ...), what the crap !

ok, back to the 2014 Blog --

1991 was the year that i got to learn about grunge music. Back, where I grew up,  it doesn't really matter , almost everything that sounds hard was categorized as "Rock".   And in fact, i didn't even know they called it grunge , subversive rocks, alternative etc. I just enjoy the music flow and simplicity of the lyrics, particularly I am talking about the band Nirvana. It was on the sofa , around 2.00 pm , as I was laying down after school, that I first heard the buzzing sounds of "Smells Like Teen Spirit". Music to me is something that add flavors to your journey , it is not a priority , but still something that follows you as you pace through life, throughout joys and difficulties. Yes, to me it represent both.

Recently, I was on a two weeks job assignment to the United States, and at first, I  wasn't really sure exactly the location of the place, after I "Google Map",  well..well...Look what I found ....an interesting fact that the work assignment area is not too far away from Seattle, Washington. The home ground of my all time favorite band , Nirvana. So I took some effort to study the information and found out that there is a museum in Seattle call the EMP Museum where they have a gallery for Nirvana, Jimi Hendrix and some other artists. So before the assignment , I told my team mate that visiting the museum is part of my wish list.  I don't really care about going to Factory Outlet or whatsoever. But I do enjoy spending time at Walmart , especially the Outdoor portion ! I got to know from my internet search that the so called famous "Pearl Jam" is also from Seattle, but who cares , I don't really like Pearl Jam anyway. Starbuck Coffee is also from Seattle, and again, who cares , I don't like Star Buck too ! What Fish ! I mean the  Seattle Pike Fish Market .

So, on the second week in the US, I went to Seattle to check it out. About an hour drive. We had our lunch in a Turkish Restaurant. Nice food. It happens to be that my team mates have very little clue about the grunge musics and of course , Nirvana in particular. So I suggested to them to drop me at the museum and pick me up later, so they could have other interesting tours at the Seattle area.  But upon reaching at the EMP museum, they decided to join me. It was just a quick tour of USD20 ticket per person. Frankly speaking , it was below my expectation kind of International Gallery. I was kind of expecting something "wow" but it turned up to be something "hmmm". Pity my team mates who followed me as they had not much clue about the museums contents and the overall tour concept, had to spend 2 hours walking and paid USD20.

Stuffs there are quite expensive, but I just grabbed few items , the compulsory EMP Museum T , Nirvana T, Jimi Hendrix & EMP Guitar Pick Collections, Fabric  Posters of Kurt Cobain and Guns N Roses. Seriously, now I do not know what to do with those stuffs ! So, when i start writing , kind of hard to stop and things just flying in my head, ready to be printed on this wall. Come As You Are , Territorial Pissing.

2013 shift_the gear..

2013 started off as the year of hope  , at least to me. Amidst the work routine in the manufacturing world, something struck me and a friend of mine to visit the next journey of our life. Being involved in business is nothing new to me. My father was also in the business line right after he retired. But I was never got involved in his business. While I was in the university, my father business was at the sunset. I was hoping to continue what he has started, it happened in most TV drama, but then, things didnt work quite well and he chose not to continue with his business anymore.

In the early notes when I first started blogging, I did mentioned about my first ambition of becoming a pilot. How did I got the idea of becoming a pilot? well, it was when I was in standard 1 where my friend alway spoke about his father, a jetfighter pilot. Seriously I didnt validate that fact, but somehow I assumed it was real story, coming from a 7 years old kid, proud of having a jetfighter pilot father.

My ambition shifted when I was in the secondary school, becoming a pilot was no longer the driving factor. I was thinking to do stuffs that suits my interest, which was to becoming a geologist or archeologist. It was Indiana Jones that influenced me. But still now, I like those outdoor stuffs. Besides the unpromising ambition of the fiction characters, deep inside I carried another ambition of being an entrepreneur. My brother used to say that, when you have plenty of money, you can be whoever you wanted to be. So since then, the world of  business was part of my ambition. Having the chance to be in the science social stream, I took out accounting , love it for a while but then it didnt turn out to be my favourite subject. Geography and physic turned out to be much more interesting. Probably because of the wonderful teachers that I had and the subconcious mind of wanting to be in that field.

So, 2013 started off with some quick conversation that I had with one of my family members, whom introduced me to the almost a real business life, where things were not like the multi-national company that I am working at. Things were so unpredictable and beyond our control. That was when I found that SWOT analysis was a tool that was finally practical and meaningful. There were million dollar projects that before this, were only headlines in newspapers. And I was then actually part of the newbies in that line. I had little knowledge in that field, to be exact, property, agricultural tradings and brokerage lines. Luckily, I am a person who acknowledged that I know what I do not know, and with that amount of beliefs, i reserved some actions of not crossing the line. Put a side risk taking, there are much more important factors that taking a risk.

Well , to cut it short , the so call brokerage business didn't give any returns. I only got experience and the chance to deal with those real world characters, ranging from the real businessman, politician and also those brokers whom already long in the business. Somehow, the Law of Attraction had proven its theory to be right, at least to me and my partner. While doing the brokerage stuffs, somehow, we found a quite interesting business to start off with. A simple trading business of an electrical goods. So, that was when we started to shift gear and throttled off to the next step of our journey. And we had our own company and it took quite few days just to come out with the company name :-) . I guess, this is something close to what I like to do, and I have to find ways to divide the time and resources.
